Over the past few months students and staff from the University of Colour, Amsterdam United, the New Urban Collective as well as Rethink, DNU, the CSR, FSR FMG, and COR have had regular meetings to establish a Diversity Committee as part of the process of democratization and decentralisation.
We would like to invite you to a meeting of the precommission on diversity which will take place right after the debate of the D&D commission on Thursday 2 July, 17:00 in the main hall of the Maagdenhuis. We would like to inform you of our initiative to establish a committee that will do research on practices of inclusion and exclusion, discrimination and diversity at the University of Amsterdam.
At the meeting we will present our plans, as well as the arguments behind this initiative. By now, we are working on a mandate as well as a project proposal, and would like to consult the broader academic community. We hope that many of you will come!
