MAAGDENHUIS2015 ARCHIVE
SYMPOSIUM & LAUNCH
15:00-19:00
De Ceuvel

▬▬▬▬▬▬
You are warmly invited to come back to the liberated Maagdenhuis. The building was last evicted just over a year ago, but the ideas live on in the Maagdenhuis2015 Archive. A group of UvA students and art students at AHK came together to preserve thousands of records of video, pictures, articles and social media entries, as well as dozens of banners, zines, printed material, and more. The project is now supported by the City Archive of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Centre for Cultural Heritage and Identity (ACHI). The Maagdenhuis2015 group will launch the archive in a symposium at the Ceuvel.

This archive will not just be any static archive – it will be open and living. Anyone with relevant material in any medium is invited to upload or send it to the archive. You will be able to edit, tag and save material on your personal profile, under a Creative Commons license. This way the archive embodies an innovative communal form of writing history, as opposed to the curated approach. Maagdenhuis2015 will present a Beta version of the website for testing, and give an overview of the ongoing work.
