Decisions and Actions from the ReThink meeting of 16 December 2015)

–                   Request from ReThink Science Park to join a debate at the Science Park on the 10-point plan that will take place in January.

o   An open debate will take place at the Science Park to discuss progress made on the 10-point plan. It will be useful if ReThink UvA is represented to take part in the debate.

–                   FDR requests to help develop a response to the announced re-organization:

o   The law faculty faces a re-organization in response to the announced budget cuts. This is creating insecurity among staff as plans are developed. Proposal to set up a working group to respond to this issue.

–                   Flex student pilot:

o   Humanities Rally drafted a letter to protest the flex student pilot. ReThink will co-sign the letter.

–                   CvB benoemingsprcedure

o   The procedure for appointing a new CvB-chair and Rector Magnificus is highly transparent does not reflect a commitment to inclusion of staff and students in the decision making process. A decision was made to send a letter to the medezeggenschap urging for a proper ‘draagvlakgesprek’ with the two candidates. A working group has been set up to develop follow-up actions.

–                   The meeting did not leave time to discuss the final two agenda points: these will be postponed to the next meeting
