9 november: WERKDRUK IN DE ACADEMIE

Locatie: VOX-POP, Binnengasthuisstraat 9
Datum & tijd: vrijdag 9 november, 16u-18u.

9 November: WORK PRESSURE IN ACADEMIA

The conversation about increasing workload is commonplace in academia. Recently a new helpdesk was established to counter some problems (see Folia article), spreading recommendations to staff members to e.g. message less on Whatsapp. Unrealistic pressure at work, though, is not an individual problem but structural – and it will only increase with further budget cuts in science and education. How will we deal with this as university in the coming years? What are personal and academic effects on staff and students? And which ambitions should the university drop if funds are, and remain short?

The event will take place from 4 till 6pm and will conclude with a borrel until 7. All staff and students are warmly welcomed to join us!

Location: VOX-POP, Binnengasthuisstraat 9
Date & time: Friday November 9, 4-6pm
Language: pragmatic mixture of English and Dutch.

The theme for the 7th of December hasn’t been finalized yet, we would love to hear your suggestions!
